Yes, I know that it is very tempting to buy foreign-made products. After all, they are almost always cheaper.

But most people don’t often think about why they are cheaper.

Unfortunately, in the name of “free trade” American workers have been merged into a global labor pool where they have to compete directly for jobs with workers on the other side of the globe that live in countries where it is legal to pay slave labor wages. This makes employing American workers a tremendous liability.

If a company hires you and pays you 10 to 15 dollars an hour with benefits, how is it going to compete with another company that pays workers a dollar an hour with no benefits on the other side of the planet?

Both major political parties are pushing this emerging “one world economic system“, but it is absolutely killing American jobs. We have already seen a mass exodus of jobs and businesses out of this country, and wages for the jobs that remain in the United States are being forced down because there are hordes of unemployed workers that are willing to take just about any decent job they can find.

It has become painfully obvious that our politicians are not going to do anything to help us on these issues, so what we need is a mass awakening among the American people.

We need to educate people that buying things that are made in America is good for the economy and that buying things that are made elsewhere is bad for the economy.

But for now, most Americans are clueless. They will line up on Black Friday morning and trample one another in a desperate attempt to save a few bucks on cheap plastic devices that were made on the other side of the planet.

And they will pay for much of this “shopping” with credit cards.

Credit card debt is on the rise once again. In fact, average credit card debt per borrower was 4.9 percent higher in the third quarter of 2012 than it was in the third quarter of 2011. It looks like most of us didn’t learn our lessons from the last financial crisis.

But not all Americans enjoy the shopping that is typically involved with this time of the year. One recent survey found that approximately 45 percent of all Americans think that there is so much financial pressure associated with the holidays that they wouldn’t mind skipping them completely.

That same poll found that approximately 41 percent of all Americans would only be able to survive for two weeks without a paycheck. Many Americans are up to their eyeballs in debt, their incomes are not keeping up with rising prices, and they find themselves scratching and clawing just to make it from month to month.

Meanwhile, we continue to destroy our own jobs and businesses by spending our money on products that have been made outside the country.

The following are 55 reasons why you should buy products that are made in America this holiday season…

1. When you buy products that are made in America you support American workers.

Last week, I read that there is even a name for people such as me. We are the ‘Peter Pan generation’; a sizeable group of 25 to 40-year-olds who exist in a state of extended adolescence, avoiding the trappings of responsibility — marriage, mortgage, children — for as long as possible.

‘Our society is full of lost boys and girls hanging out at the edge of adulthood,’ says Professor Frank Furedi, a sociologist who has been studying this phenomenon, at the University of Kent.

‘Another word sometimes used to describe these people is “adultescent” — generally defined as someone who refuses to settle down and make commitments, and who would rather go on partying into middle age.’

Young men in America didn’t always behave this way. Several decades ago, men in America moved away from home, got married and had children much earlier than they do now. But the young men of today seem to want to put off the “markers of adulthood” for as long as possible. The following is from an outstanding article by Sandy Hingston…

Sociologists cite five “markers” or “milestones” that have traditionally defined our notion of adulthood: finishing school, moving away from the parental home, becoming financially independent, getting married, and having a child. In 1960, 65 percent of men had ticked off all five by age 30; by 2000, only a third had. The experts have plenty of explanations for what’s come to be called “extended adolescence” or “emerging adulthood”—or what New York Times columnist David Brooks calls the “Odyssey Years.” They blame helicopter parents, the burden of student loan debt, much higher poverty rates among young people (nearly half of all Americans ages 25 to 34 live below the national level), and a dearth of vo-tech training and manufacturing jobs. Almost 60 percent of parents are now giving money to their grown kids—an average of $38,340 per child in the years between ages 18 and 34. Whatever happened to the son looking after his mom?

So why is all of this happening?

Well, there are a whole host of reasons. But certainly parents and our education system have to bear much of the blame. In the old days, young men were taught what it means to “be a man”, and morality was taught to young men both by their parents and in the schools. But today, most young men have very little understanding of what “manhood” is, and our society has taught them that morality doesn’t really matter. Instead, television and movies constantly portray young men as sex-obsessed slackers that just want to party all the time, so that is what many of our young men have become.

How much better off would our society be if we had trained this generation of young men to love, honor, protect and take care of others?

How much better off would our society be if we had nurtured the manhood of our young men instead of teaching them to be ashamed of it?

How much better off would our society be if we had disciplined our young men and taught them morality when they were getting off track instead of just letting them do whatever they wanted?

The following are 22 stats that prove that there is something seriously wrong with young men in America today…

What a year 2012 has been! The mainstream media continues to tell us what a “great job” the Obama administration and the Federal Reserve are doing of managing the economy, but meanwhile things just continue to get even worse for the poor and the middle class. It is imperative that we educate the American people about the true condition of our economy and about why all of this is happening. If nothing is done, our debt problems will continue to get worse, millions of jobs will continue to leave the country, small businesses will continue to be suffocated, the middle class will continue to collapse, and poverty in the United States will continue to explode. Just “tweaking” things slightly is not going to fix our economy. We need a fundamental change in direction. Right now we are living in a bubble of debt-fueled false prosperity that allows us to continue to consume far more wealth than we produce, but when that bubble bursts we are going to experience the most painful economic “adjustment” that America has ever gone through. We need to be able to explain to our fellow Americans what is coming, why it is coming and what needs to be done. Hopefully the crazy economic numbers that I have included in this article will be shocking enough to wake some people up.

The end of the year is a time when people tend to gather with family and friends more than they do during the rest of the year. Hopefully many of you will use the list below as a tool to help start some conversations about the coming economic collapse with your loved ones. Sadly, most Americans still tend to doubt that we are heading into economic oblivion. So if you have someone among your family and friends that believes that everything is going to be “just fine”, just show them these numbers. They are a good summary of the problems that the U.S. economy is currently facing.

The following are 50 economic numbers from 2012 that are almost too crazy to believe…

Americans should blame their schools, and removal of God from the classroom, for Friday’s murders of schoolchildren in Connecticut, according to former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a 2008 Republican presidential candidate who is now a pundit and host on Fox News.

Huckabee did not mention guns, gun culture, or assault rifles in talking about the country’s latest mass killing, but said on Fox News:

“We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools. Should we be surprised that schools would become places of carnage?”

Huckabee is a Baptist minister. As governor of Arkansas, he pardoned Maurice Clemmons, the Arkansas felon who went on to gun down in 2009 four Lakewood, Wash., police officers in cold blood. Clemmons was pardoned after he asked Huckabee to show compassion, vowed that he had changed his life since “the angel of death has visited and taken away my dear, sweet mother.”

Huckabee seemed to see church-state separation as responsible for the horrors Friday at an elementary school, where 18 grammar school pupils died.

“We’ve made it (school) a place where we don’t talk about eternity, life, what responsibility means, accountability — that we’re not going to have to be accountable to the police if they catch us, but one day we stand before, you know holy God in judgment,” said Huckabee. “If we don’t believe that, then we don’t fear that.”

As others were calling for a national discussion on guns, Huckabee said it is time to look upstairs.

“Maybe we ought to let (God) in on the front end, and we wouldn’t have to call Him up when it’s all said and done at the back end,” Huckabee argued.

Rice said that what was sure to be a contentious and lengthy approval process took attention away from more pressing problems facing the nation.

“It’s a tragedy.” So said Dennis Prager upon first hearing the news that Ohio had gone to Obama, thus deciding the Election 2012 outcome in these United States, November 6, 2012. I would add my own thought as a lifelong Buckeye: It is embarrassing.

By reelecting Barack Obama, we have made a choice as a nation that is so egregiously bad that I feel I must distance myself from the decision or risk being associated with the disastrous consequences of it. Even though I’m not sure that such separation is possible. How we as a nation of intelligent, somewhat God-fearing people could re-elect someone with such a dismal record, someone who has proven to be one of the most inept leaders of the modern era, someone who blatantly lies to us to cover his political disasters, and who openly advocates theft through redistribution as the new American way of life is beyond my feeble comprehension. Especially when we had such an admirable alternative.

Although I didn’t agree with Romney on everything, he is easily one of the most competent and virtuous leaders for whom our nation has has ever had the privilege of casting a vote. It is natural in the aftermath that so many of us would feel disillusioned by our nation rejecting such a leader while embracing another who champions becoming a victim as the new norm. (It’s Bush’s fault, remember?)

This is not the America I have known. But that is, apparently, the point.

I sat last night thinking, “How is this possible?” If America is the nation I think it is — and then it hit me — it’s obviously not, not anymore. Frankly, I didn’t like any of the answers I gave myself. I’ll get into more of them in the coming days. And I know many will think my thoughts are just sour grapes.

When I left for Guam a little over a week ago, Romney seemed to have this thing wrapped up. Then came the storm, the photo-ops in the situation room, and the praise from Chris Christie and – presto! Obama thrives while disaster continues on the dark streets of New York and New Jersey. In the words of Vizzini from The Princess Bride— Inconceivable! Unless…

It’s the end of America as we know it.

Far too many of us thought that Obama’s election in 2008 was an anomaly. I confess I thought that too many people had simply been caught up in panic of the economic collapse caused by liberal victimization policies. They had been fooled into thinking it was all Bush’s fault by a biased media. That was then. As the old adage goes, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice — well, that’s where we find ourselves today.

Let’s just say we are now fully and unquestionably responsible for the President we have chosen. The chickens are about to come home to roost. (Where have I heard that before? Oh, that’s right. Obama’s openly Marxist spiritual mentor for twenty years gleefully celebrating the tragedy of 9/11 from the pulpit. Where was the IRS then? But I digress.)

The seven-year-old died in July 2010 from internal injuries caused by three months of punishing beatings from his own mother. Ege accused her husband, Yousef, of being the real killer throughout her murder trial at Cardiff Crown Court. But he was cleared on Wednesday of failing to act to prevent the death of his son at home in Pontcanna, Cardiff, south Wales.

Ege was found guilty of murder and of perverting the course of justice. She will be sentenced in the new year. Details of the punishing beatings Yaseen regularly suffered at the hands of his mother were so traumatic she could not listen herself. She was given leave by the judge to absent herself from the court room when the jury was told of the events leading to his death.

The Romney campaign spent an estimated $356 million between January 1, 2011 and October 17, 2012 in its unsuccessful effort to defeat incumbent President Barack Obama.

According to Federal Election Commission documents, as reported by OpenSecrets.org, $33 million of this amount was paid to two consulting firms with ties to key staffers at both the Romney campaign and the RNC.

Targeted Victory LLC, a Minnesota company with executive offices in Virginia, was paid $17 million for digital communications by the Romney campaign. FLS Connect LLC, an Arizona corporation with headquarters in Minnesota, was paid $16 million for voter contact and telemarketing services. Again, this is through October 17th, the final amount is likely much higher.

Based on press reports and publicly available business incorporation documents, it appears that three individuals had control of these funds: Tony Feather and Michael Beach at Targeted Victory LLC; Tony Feather and David James at FLS Connect LLC.

Significantly, key staffers at both the Romney campaign and the RNC have close recent ties with both firms.

One prominent figure at the Romney campaign — Political Director Rich Beeson — and one prominent figure at the RNC — Chief of Staff Jeff Larson — were both until recently partners at FLS Connect LLC. It’s unclear what, if any, ongoing relationship they may have with the company. A second prominent player in the Romney campaign — Digital Director Zac Moffat — has not fully disclosed what, if any, ongoing business relationship he maintains with Targeted Victory LLC. Press reports have referred to Moffat as the co-founder of Targeted Victory LLC.

Given Romney’s loss to President Obama, the return on investment for this $33 million paid to a handful of well connected consultants has come under harsh questioning from many quarters.

China’s most famous book of prophecies, the 7th century Tui Bei Tu, makes no direct mention of the end of the world.

But in Sichuan province, panic buying of candles has swept through two counties in the fear that an ancient Mayan prediction that the world will end on December 21 proves to be true.

“Candles are selling by the hundreds, with buyers constantly coming to the market. Many stores have run out,” said Huang Zhaoli, a shopper at the Neijing Wholesale Market, to the West China City Daily newspaper. Mr Li, the owner of the Guangfa grocery store in Chengdu, added: “Lots of people have been buying candles recently. At first, we had no idea why. But then we heard someone muttering about the continuous darkness”.

The source of the panic was traced to a post on Sina Weibo, China’s version of Twitter, predicting that there will be three days of darkness when the apocalypse arrives.
