Gallup:Herman Cain Surges, Nearly Ties Romney for Lead in GOP Preferences

Mitt Romney and Herman Cain lead the field for the 2012 GOP nomination, with 20% and 18% support, respectively. A similar proportion, 20%, is undecided. Cain’s ranking reflects a surge in his support since September, while Rick Perry’s has dropped by half, from 31% to 15%.
