U.S. House Projections Updated: GOP Hits +50 – 10/9/10
Republicans are poised for a 50-seat net gain in the House of Representatives, and that number could still go higher, according to our latest update of U.S. House Projections for the November 2 Midterm Elections.
We are now tracking 128 races, 104 of which are seats currently held by Democrats. We now project Republicans to pickup 52-seats currently held by Democrats, and Democrats to pickup 2-seats now held by the GOP. There are still 26-seats rated as a tossup. Prior to Election Day, we will make a final projection on all the races.
Republicans need a net gain of 39-seats to regain control of the House of Representatives. This is the first time we have moved the projection to a 50-seat net gain for the GOP. You can always get the latest projections by going to our U.S. House Projection page.
