Washington D.C. has its hottest spring on record (98 Degrees)
If the first few days of summer have really made you sweat, you are not alone. This was the hottest spring on record in the Washington area, and the first week of summer has been marked by a scorching heat wave. The highest temperature registered for this day at Reagan National Airport is 98 degrees, a record that was set in 1894. We may well hit that mark again today!
It’s been a record-breaking year all around. At Reagan National and at Dulles Airport, the average temperature from March 20 to June 20 was the highest ever: 66.7 degrees at Reagan National and 64.5 degrees at Dulles. That followed the snowiest winter ever, too. Remember that? A little white stuff sounds pretty good right now.
But at least there is some relief in sight. On Friday, the high temperature is expected to be only in the 80s.
