Obama on Sestak Job Scandal: ‘Nothing Improper Took Place’; W.H. Report Coming ‘Soon’
Barack Obama assured the American people that “nothing improper took place” with regard to claims by Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA.) that the Obama administration offered him a government job if he would drop out of the Pennsylvania primary race with Sen. Arlen Specter.
Obama also said a White House report about the allegations would be coming “soon”.
“Not months or weeks,” he said.
Democrats and Republicans have raised questions about what could be a serious violation of federal law, or even an impeachable offense, if Sestak was indeed offered a bribe of a federal job.
Obama made his comments in response to a question by Fox News’ Major Garrett at today’s press conference.
Obama declined to get into specifics, deferring to the “soon” to be released White House report.
