Hope and Change Coming So Fast:Obama meets with Atheists (first time in history)
Today the White House–which has hosted everyone from the Dalai Lama to dinner party crashers–welcomes a group it never has before: non-believers.
The Secular Coalition for America, a lobby group including atheists, humanists, nontheists and others, will meet with the Obama administration to discuss religious discrimination in government faith-based initiatives, military proselytizing and faith-healing.
It’s the first time in history such a group has been invited to talk policy with presidential officials. Obama was also the first president to mention nonbelievers in an inaugural address.
