Some programs may actually hurt health care by disrupting local services

Despite billions of dollars spent trying to save people from death and disease in poor countries, there’s little evidence which efforts have paid off.
In the last two decades, the world has spent more than $196 billion trying to save people from death and disease in poor countries.
Millions of people are now protected against diseases like yellow fever, sleeping under anti-malaria bed nets and taking AIDS drugs.
But there isn’t much proof that pricey programs led by the United Nations and its partners are responsible, according to two studies published Friday in the medical journal, Lancet.

Just isn’t getting any better. There are alot of us who need doctors and don’t have jobs,why can’t we get some help? It isn’t our fault that the government is a mess. I live in a small town out here in Nevada and our senitor doesn’t care if some of us who are without jobs and no money are stravin and you all know who he is. I wish my name tobe not mentioned. Plus I served in the regular army during 1979-1980(which the later part was during Pres. Jimmy Carters term. The company that I was attached to then was thwe 801ST Maintenance Battalion in Fort Campbell,Kentucky and we were the next to go if the Military Freeze with Iran &Irac would not of happened. We THE PEOPLE have all that we can do to take care of ourselves in the united states of AMERICA. Even out here more of the Mexican people are coming out to our little town and going to our cove area(Colorado River) just within this past year there seems tobe more and more coming,what is really going on???? Are our boarders really being guarded??? I listen to AM 70 Talk Raido and now I heard that North koria something about pointing their missles at Hawaii??? If I herd right, what is going on?? Can’t we all just leave each other alone? Or get along? Life is to short. I was brought up not to hate and now it gets confusing. Amereica needs to take care of Americans now!!!! Isn’t it a shame that America is rich and yet it gets expencive to live in,why is that? We need jobs now,we need food now we need gas now. I am an American. Thank you for letting me say some things. There are alot of things I don’t understand thoe. I and my friend we can’t afford food, we can’t afford electricity,we can’t afford water, we don’t get to eat steak,lobster etc. we get from commodities: rice, beans,few can goods,pasta and it doesn’t last a month!!!! Sometimes we don’t eat because there is nothing and we’re in our 50’s. This is the way AMERICANS should be treated? Anyone who is concerened about food situation we could sure use it out here in the Southwest part of Nevada(Searchlight). Thank you again.. GOD BLESS. If anyone cares people here need all kinds of food, baby items,shampoos&conditioners, soap,doog food, cat food,(bags),toothbrushes and toothpaste, tp paper, combs,brushes, shoes for some,clothes for some,GAS VOUCHERS to buy gas for vehicles.Adult shampoo& conditioners,toothpaste,toothbrushes(new)sunblock,etc.. It gets in the 101″s and more and some have nowhere to go to get out of the heat in their homes!!!! Thank you,by!!!
