Obama Gaffe: America Didn’t Invent Automobile

[Via Yahoo News] President Obama’s speech to Congress last night might have emphasized urgency over historical accuracy when he stated, “And I believe the nation that invented the automobile cannot walk away from it.”

Many inventors contributed to the rise of the car in modern-day life. But the U.S. Library of Congress credits German inventor Karl Benz with creating the first true automobile that ran on an internal combustion engine.

And how much did the MSM jump all over Mr. Obama for his stupid uneducated comment? Zilch. Zip. Zero. Nada!

If President Bush had made this exact statement eight years ago… they would still be laughing about it, and mocking him for it. But not Mr. Obama… he’s their boy! It is sickening. The guy is unqualified to lead anything.

to Enzo: make fun of Obama when he screws up, jack up the nielsen ratings for shows that bash Obama, and keep expressing your outrage on internet forums.

That’s the recipe that got the MSM to jump all over Bush.

Do this as much as you can, and Obama will be the next big joke - millions of political cartoons and a character on Saturday Night Live

People have power in America, ain’t free speech fuckin great?

Yeah, Joe, free speech is great… but Mr Obama will soon try to silence the loyal opposition, so that it will only be the left that can freely speak their minds. Obama has Dick Turbin working on legislation at present to control talk radio, in essence to silence the right.

Why exactly are my tax dollars being used to support PBS and NPR when NO conservative programing is ever aired? The liberal talk shows are not marketable on revenue generating stations, so they cry foul. Nobody listens to them, thus no advertisers buy time to support them. Liberal talk is a welfare case. Conservative talk is a money machine. It clearly illustrates that honesty is the best policy.

We have a local radio station in Tampa that has been surviving on only listener donations for the past 17 years: the play the music people want to hear and the news people want to hear.

As far as conservative talk goes, dems and reps both listen to it. It’s exciting. I listen to Limbaugh and Hannity.
But you’ve got to understand there is a difference between NEWS and a TALK SHOW. Jerry Springer is a talk show, and Springer’s ratings are through the roof. A similar phenomenon drives the ratings of right-wing-talk-daytime radio. People want to see fights, and the lowest common denominator, just like people want to hear hate and linguistically charged rhetoric [ you know, killing babies as opposed to terminating pregnancies, cut’n'run as opposed to troop withdrawal, regime change as opposed to foreign occupation, and troop surge instead of escalation of conflict].

In fact, these linguistic phenomena have allowed the right wing to dominate talk radio: I’m sure you yourself want to maintain our beautiful countryside but you might not want to ‘go green’ or ’stop climate change’.
