Rep. Louie Gohmert (R.-Tx): Stop 60% of Porkulus Bill, Elect GOP in 2010 (Video)
Our favorite congressman of the day, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R.-Tx) was on Hannity’s show last night. This is a winner as far as I am concerned. The bailouts of the Auto, Banking, and Insurance industries have been a waste of money. Those industries are still flat on their backs. That is because a government handout is just corporate welfare, it doesn’t create a demand for their products, which is the only real way to reinvigorate a company.
Gohmert has a great election issue for next year. The Republicans can pledge to stop the 60% of the Pork Bill that will not have been spent yet (and how exactly is it stimulus if 60% of it won’t even be spent by January 2011?) and then give it back to the people, so they can go buy goods and services of their choosing, which will boost the economy through the free market, rather than through government make-work projects.
