Wow! The level of spite and paranoia by commenters on both sides here is astounding. Is it fair to judge Mr. Rove by the company he keeps? Rove has been a master practicioner of the politics of hate and divisiveness, so I guess it’s to be expected.

McCain is a good man who made some really bad campaign decisions (e.g. his VP pick). Regardless of what you think of Obama, he ran a smarter and cleaner campaign. He deserves the win.

Let’s hope and pray that Obama can be the uniter he promises to be. And let’s hope and pray that the dogmatists and extremists on both sides will give him a chance.
