From Local NBC News: Obama citizenship questions continue
WEST PALM BEACH, FL — It’s been Internet gossip for months. Is Barack Obama a U.S. citizen?
“I think it’s conspiracy theories run amuck,” says WPTV political analyst Dr. Robert Watson. “The next thing we’re going to hear is Barack Obama was at Roswell.”
Nonetheless an attorney in Philadelphia, Philip Berg, filed a lawsuit claiming Obama lost his U.S. citizenship when his mother married an Indonesian man. Berg says Obama failed to take an oath of allegiance when he turned 18.
Obama has attempted to silence any critics by producing a birth certificate from Hawaii, proving he was born there in 1961. Berg however is demanding an original, and not a copy from the Obama camp.
Obama’s team filed a motion to dismiss Berg’s lawsuit, but they also made a motion to block discovery.
Brian Smith is a West Palm Beach attorney registered as an Independent, that has wrote about this issue from a legal standpoint on his blog.
“The Obama camp and Democratic National Committee responded to the lawsuit by filing a motion to dismiss, but they never responded to the request for admissions.”
Berg is now arguing because Obama’s camp is refusing to produce an original birth certificate copy in discovery, his allegations are essentially true.
“Wednesday he filed a motion for summary judgment, or a judgment in his favor, as a matter of law, because they essentially admitted those allegations. That from a legal perspective is huge,” says Smith.
This is the third lawsuit that’s been filed about Obama’s citizenship, meaning the courts will have to decide how to move forward. A Washington man, Steven Marquis, is suing the Washington Secretary of State, demanding that he verify Obama’s citizenship status before the election.
In Honolulu, Andy Martin filed a lawsuit on October 17th, to get the Hawaiin Department of Health to release Obama’s birth certificates. Martin also wants to see an original birth certificate, and not a ‘copy.’
Smith says under Hawaiin law birth certificates are considered private.

If Obama has a birth certificate just show it and end this stuff. If he can’t produce one it seems pretty black and white, no pun intended.
Maybe Birth Certificates are considered private, but when you post what you claim to be the birth certificate on your website, don’t you waive your privacy?

If Obama was white and his name was John Smith would this really be an issue?
I’ve only had a copy of my birth certificate, never had the original and have no clue where I could find it. I’ve never run into any problems in the US because I only have a copy. But then I am white, and I have a very generic name.
If Obama was wihite he would never have been selected as the democratic nominee, he does not have the experience. He’s a politacl activast and a radical to boot, switch the rolls and any white person or hispanic person whith ties to race radical groups would have been crucified by the liberal media. The birth certificate is just a drop in the bucket of the shady underlines of this campaign by the liberal camp. As for not knowing how to get a copy of your birth certificate, contact the county of the state you were born (if it was in this country) and you can request one.
Saks, your not running for president of the United States of America. I don’t see how it should be a problem for Obama to supply his original birth certificate to the court IF hes telling us the truth…

I love the ignorant comment that “the birth certificate is posted on his website.” Come on, are you serious? An electronic copy in this day and age of technology? The court must demand that the hard copy be furnished to confirm it is authentic. If Obama is a US citizen, all he has to do is give it to the court for examination. What is he waiting for? What is he and the DNC hiding? It’s should be obvious!SIGN THE PETITION!
Common Sense Please:
Every county seat has a vital statistics department whereby the hospital sends a duplicate of the birth cert. Even if you lost yours you can get it replaced for $10 unless it doesn’t exist. What BO. produced was a Cert of Live Birth not a Birth cert. with a seal, Dr’s. name Hospital name. Also, there should be some hospital documents on microfiche
somewhere. I smell a cover up by BO.

It is outrageous that a Presidential candidate will not produce an original birth certificate. I thought this was nothing, and now it is a real issue!!!!
If we,the common people, have to produce an original birth certificate to get a drivers license, then I should think Obama should produce an original birth certificate if he wants to ruin….oops… did I say ruin?…..if he wants to “run” the United States of America!!
I could not get a Driver’s License or residency in the state of Oklahoma without a “certified” birth certificate from the state I was born in since 911. My birth certificate I have used all my life is now only a registration of my birth is deemed invalid. I must reapply for an actual certified document of my birth. This is what I need to apply for legal status in Oklahoma but not for President of the United States? Please….think about it people…is there something hidden that should be revealed ? I cannot get a passport, a legal residency in another state, a license to operate in different state without this, but someone running for presidency does not have to?
State declares Obama birth certificate genuine

HONOLULU (AP) — State officials say there’s no doubt Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.
Health Department Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said Friday she and the registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have personally verified that the health department holds Obama’s original birth certificate.
Fukino says that no state official, including Republican Gov. Linda Lingle, ever instructed that Obama’s certificate be handled differently.
She says state law bars release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who does not have a tangible interest.
Some Obama critics claim he was not born in the US.
Earlier Friday, a southwest Ohio magistrate rejected a challenge to Obama’s citizenship. Judges in Seattle and Philadelphia recently dismissed similar suits.
We had no choice No-Change CFR backed McSwain or smooth slick CFR backed Obama. And now our “Masters” are taking us to the cleaners economically. Don’t sing me any anthems or fly me any flags.
Who cares what the analyst thinks? We want reporting of facts. Shut up and sing!
