You can also see that John McCain is way at the bottom.  It does prove that both parties were responsible for this mess with their crony capitalism.  However, Obama is solely blaming McCain.  Hypocrisy much?

All right, you Nobama-ites. Get all up in their faces with the facts, just like Obama told his folks to this week. Only difference is that they’ll have to lie.

Source link?

Facts don’t lie.

John is definitely a maverick!

wow you erased my comment cause i stated that this could be made up b/c there is no source link…nice!

republican government policies are responsible. recipients of contributions have nothing to do with the trillions of dollars in debt and loans from china that caused this crisis in addition to interest rates ok’d by republicans. republicans have controlled everything for the past 12 years except for the congress for the past 4.

oops sorry. for the past 2. which means when john mccain tried to pass his bill, the republicans were in control of everything. also incidentally his bill would have lead to no oversight of these 2 organizations.

These numbers are phony. Who are these “individuals”? Someone forgot that Obama is a Presidential candidate and has raised several hundreds of millions so far.

We are knocking Obama & McCain for contributions from “Individuals” of these companies?

Let us cut the partisan crap out. $6,000.00 from a PAC is hardly “influence”.

Is McCain going to blame Joe Lieberman, who got nearly twice as much “PAC” money as Obama??? Come on…this is dumb.

Let us debate the issues and stop the stupid “gotcha” politics.

As an individual contributor to the Obama campaign I can assure “admin” and others that each time a donation is made by an individual you are asked for your occupation and the name of your employer. This does not mean that my employer was trying to use me to influence the outcome of the election. Really, this post and the outrage over the donations to Obama should be labeled “Distortion.”

Geez! Why did I bother to post an honest comment here? This site really out to contain links to fightthesmear.com or snopes.com

So what you folks don’t think individuals of Fannie Mae have the right to contribute to a Presidential campaign? Of course they favor democrats, the company has social conscience - you’d link a bunch of heartless Republicans work there?

How facts can be twisted by the socialdemocrats is unbelievable.
This so obviously a democrat engineered so called social program turned into pure fraud
I gagged on Johnson and Carter but these leftist in the democrat party would not be recognized by the old guard.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac employees donated $126,349 to the Obama campaign while they donated $21,550 to McCain. Corporations themselves are ineligible from donating to political campaigns. Whereas, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac board of directors and lobbyists donated $169,000 to McCain and his related committees, compared with $16,000 to Obama and his related committees.

Yes, Obama got the most money, however most of that was from individuals who happen to work for Fannie and Fredie, only $6000 was from PACs, compare that to teh republicans on the list, granted McCain did not, but he has his own sources of money from PACs that are a little dodgy.

How can you make an argument than one person or one party is responsible for this. The true “no hype” interpretation is that there is no way to be in the senate or the house without accepting contributions from anyone you can. The interpretation should be that corporations should no longer be able to donate money—this is a government by THE PEOPLE and FOR THE PEOPLE (from the constitution you constitutionalists. Individual contributions should be limited to a specific dollar amount. That would solve so much.

Your facts are not totally true The UPPER management of fm/fmac gave McCain $169,000 in addition to the $21550 of PAC money (employees of FM/Fmac)while Obama only recieved $16000 from UPPER management in addition to the $124349 of PAC funds.

Who’s in there pocket more …get your facts straight

this chart is confusing . under pac column , what pac ? how much is from freddie mae/mac officers or pac . the columns don’t match the headlines .

According to the schematic, a vast majority of the funds ($126,349) that Sen. Obama received came from the EMPLOYEES of FM/FM ($120,349), and only $6,000 came from the PAC.

If that is what the schematic is showing, then the question is: WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL? Obama couldn’t have received any campaign contributions in previous years as he wasn’t running for office in those years.

Also, will you be as diligent to poll other employers to see what their employees contributed to both campaigns? I’d be interested to see what Wal-mart employees contributed, seeing as how their using scare tactics to make their employees fear having Barack Obama as the president….

** OBAMA/BIDEN 2008!! **

The collapse of FNMA/FMAC is not due to any one person’s actions: neither Obama nor McCain, or anyone else. It is a result of the complete failure of the Legislative branch of our government. Perhaps it is significant to note, according to the above figures, that Democrat legislators have received contributions from the fradulent “government sponsored enterprises” at more than 2-to-1 over their Republican colleagues. Consider that fact when you select a President for what is likely to be a majority Democrat House and Senate. The same guys who broke the bank are going to remain in power, folks. The only choice you have is how much power they will have in the White House.

All of these politicians are crooks! You people are nothing but brainwashed drones thinking that these greedy slugs actually represent “we the people”!!! My ancester Josiah Bartlet (signer of the declaration) is probably rolling over in his grave right now! Wake up people we are not being represented!!! If you think these self serving S.O.B.’s give a rats rear end about us serf’s then you probably believe in the tooth fairy. I think it’s time for another Boston tea party! at the polls of course! Until politicians remember that they are “PUBLIC SERVANTS” we won’t see any real “CHANGE” or true governance. Wake up people!!!!

David .. “John is definitely a maverick” John is about as much of a Maverick as silly putty … give me a break .. what? are you like 9 years old or what?

OK, what this chart doesn’t say is that is was Employees of Fannie & Freddie who donated. Corporations CAN’T donate to candidates.

The chart is also misleading on how much McCain received from the real power brokers at the two mortgage companies: board members & lobbyists who are not technically employees. The info below is from PolitiFact.com a factchecking service of the St Petersburg Times:

“The New York Times looked at contributions from Fannie and Freddie’s boards of directors and lobbyists, who are technically not employees. That analysis found Fannie and Freddie-related contributors gave $169,000 to John McCain and his related committees, compared with $16,000 to Obama and his related committees.”

So lets see that makes the total for McCain $190,550.00 from Fat Cats mostly & Obama $148,349.00 from a lot of little fish. And the winner for taking the most money is… the champion of financial DEregulation…MCCAIN!!!

Oh, and lets not forget Rick Davis McCains’ campaign manager one of Fannie & Freddie’s biggest lobbyists!!

Did I mention Phil Graham is his Financial Advisor? You know, he’s the guy who helped pass the DEregulation laws during successive REPUBLICAN controlled Congresses that helped get us into this mess in the first place.

Wake up folks!

You sheeple are a bunch of idiots. dems or repubs isnt the issue. it’s the fact that these servants no longer represent us is the real problem. Our freedom is being erroded right under our feet. you’ve all been duped by the diversionary media! It appears to me that this current herd will continue down the chute to the great American slaughter. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! Your future freedom is at stake!

Mike LeAlcala you are the only one with a clear vision of the problem of these comments. It is not one side or the other, it is both sides against the people of the United States.
Sheep is right, lemmings is more like it. Lets give more power to the government and the people who caused this mess. Save us General Custer, we’re surrounded. Save us Captain Smith, we hit an iceberg. America is dying by degrees. Each degree is an election where these wildebeast migrate toward higher taxes and more government control. Unless we take back our govenment America will, and should, perish.

the source link for this is opensecrets.org. they list contributions to politicians.
