Breaking Poll: Obama in trouble - Leading Sen. John McCain 46% to 41% in New York

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A New York poll finds Sen. Barack Obama’s lead in the state has fallen to five points, down from 18 points in June.

The Siena Research Institute poll has Obama, a Democrat, leading Sen. John McCain 46 to 41 percent among likely voters in the heavily Democratic state. He led 51-33 in the June survey.

Likely voters say they believe Obama would do a better job revitalizing the nation’s economy, ending the war in Iraq, improving the health care system, and enhancing the education system. McCain, the Republican nominee, is seen as stronger on fighting terrorism and enhancing America’s strength in the world.

The poll released Monday contacted 626 registered voters between Sept. 8 and 10 and has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 3.9 percentage points.

Interesting trend.

Let’s say Obama gets NY, Iowa, Wisconsin, Oregon. Give leaning Florida, Ohio, and Nevada to McCain. Appropriately distribute the other solid states to both sides, that gives McCain 252 and Obama 196, and also based on up-to-date polling and historical data, call the following 8 states ‘toss-up’: Washington, Colorado, New Mexico, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia. Therefore, McCain only needs 18 votes from the 8 ‘toss-up’ states to reach 270. Combine that with Obama being hell-bent on overthrowing the 51 Constitutions (2nd Amendment and 50 state constitutions with peoples’ right-to-keep and bear), it therefore appears McCain will be the next President by a landslide.
