Cheer up Democrats, the Worst is yet to come!
Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin exceeded expectations Wednesday night in her highly anticipated acceptance speech, skewering Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, slamming the news media, painting herself as the ultimate Washington outsider, and touting the military service and reformer record of her ticket-mate GOP presidential candidate John McCain.
In her primetime national political debut, Palin touted her small-town Alaska roots and took the fight directly to Obama.
“I accept the call to help our nominee for president to serve and defend America,” Palin said. “I accept the challenge of a tough fight in this election against confident opponents at a crucial hour for our country. And I accept the privilege of serving with a man who has come through much harder missions and met far graver challenges and knows how tough fights are won — the next president of the United States, John S. McCain.”
Delivering her biography, Palin said, “I had the privilege of living most of my life in a small town.”

Sarah Palin tho unknown to most until just days ago, is a refreshing, vigorus lady with moral integrety that is a most refreshing sight to see in a politition and should be an example to those who go by that term. This lady should be either ‘feared’ by her opponents or ‘praised’ by those wanting traditional Values back in the leadership of the Greatest Nation in the World!
Hi -
I’ve spoken to a few people, particularly the owner of http://www.palinforamerica.com and other blogers we have agreed to get on the streets and protest this weekend against the sexism.
We need people to organize to come out this Saturday and show support for the Palin family and disdain for what the media is doing.
If you are in Seattle area, drop me a line and join. We only need 1 or 2 hours of your time.
If you are outside the area, spread the word, go to http://www.palinforamerica.com and organize. WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Paul, I wish I could join you in Seattle this saturday! I will definitely help palinforamerica.com in any way I can though.
Personally, I think Sarah Palin is an amazing woman. I have researched her record, I have researched all the claims Democrats are making against her, I have looked at both sides and researched to find out the truth. The truth is, she could easily be our first female President in the future. She started out in the middle class with a mother who was a secretary and a father who was a teacher and a coach. They were definitely not wealthy, not even close to how wealthy Obama has been his entire life!
She saw the leaders(even republicans) in her community and state as being liars and ineffective. She was just a normal young woman, graduated from University of Idaho(not prestigous Harvard, as her family didnt have the money to send her) which was in her home state, she was in several beauty pageants, and worked as a sports reporter for an Alaskan tv station. She met and married Todd Palin and invested in and became co-owner of his commercial fishing business(so she knows how it is to be a small business owner/entrepreneur). She was just trying to live her life and make something of her life just like every other person in the world.
Unlike most people, she decided to fight her community’s ineffective leaders by becoming a politician. She first served on Wasilla, AK city council to make sure that her town was going in the right direction and make it safer for her family. The she became mayor of the small town she lived was from in Alaska and then easily won reelection. While being mayor, she was in a scandal about trying to ban certain books. I could not find much information on the details, but my guess is that she said it during a heated discussion about a particular book. She also reduced her own salary. She has been attacked about her not wanting a bigger library, but she believed heavily in people, especially children, staying in good health and wanted to make sure that the city got a recreation center as it is obvious that it is not very easy to just work out outside in Alaska. Palin was also elected to President of the Alaska Conference of Mayors.
Democrats attack some of the things she did in Alaska, but if what she did was so bad, why would she have been reelected as mayor in a landslide and elected by other mayors to be president of the statewide conference of mayors? If what the Democrats call bad policies, why was she so incredibly popular in her community and her state??
Then because of a state law in Alaska, a person can only be mayor for 2 terms and so she ran for lieutenant governor of Alaska. Losing that election, she was appointed by Republican governor Murkowski to head the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. She honorably resigned due to a lack of ethics of Republicans she was involved with. She filed complaints against members of her own party because they were doing work for the Republican party while on public time.
I personally have never heard of any politician doing something that ballsy. I am sure many politicians get upset when they are truly trying to help their constituants and see people in their party wasting tax payers’ money, but non of them risk being a whistle blower about it and risk their future career.
Democrats often attack Palin because she worked for Ted Steven’s in a 527 group, raising a lot of money for him. What everyone should think about is all of the politicians and people that believe in the leaders of their party and want to raise money to help them stay in charge. I mean I would raise money for McCain and Palin, as much as I could, and I would be pissed if several years later I found out that they were getting paid off by different people. She could not have foreseen that and Democrats are pandering to the public because they think people are too dumb to see how that was not bad. They know their constituants will believe that she was doing something bad, even though those same people would turn around and raise money for their politicians in a heartbeat.
After seeing how corrupt Governor Murkowski was, she ran against him in a primary and beat him by a large margin. She then defeated former governor Knowles by another large margin. She became the most popular politician in America, with over a 90% approval rating(and she wasn’t a do-nothing politician either!). She started a long record of supporting politicians that she felt were decent people that wanted to help their state, whether they were republican or democrat. She pushed Senator Stevens to come clean about financial dealings, and from what I have found out, she did so because she figured he was not doing anything wrong and she wanted him to prove it so the investigation would stop. She supported him until it was apparent that he was being paid off, then she stopped all projects Stevens started including the “bridge to nowhere” and the road going to the bridge, realizing how dirty Stevens was.
My personal favorite thing she did as Governor was to sell the plane that Murkowski bought with state money on Ebay! I have never heard of a politician being so real and being so brass. When I researched all about her, everything about her and her life was a pleasant surprise!
I am going to try and end this EXTREMELY long post with this statement: Sarah Palin is everything a woman should be and everything that young women and girls should want to be. She is the perfect role-model for every girl in America. She is smart, tough, honest, strong, self-reliant, hard-working, and beautiful. She shows girls that they can really be all of those things. She shows girls that you can be attractive and be in beauty pageants and still be taken seriously and still be a strong person who doesnt make it on her looks. Hell, I am a guy and she is somewhat of a role-model for me(McCain more so. He is probably one of the toughest men in America). The best thing is that she hasnt been in politics too long to be jaded by anything, as I do believe McCain might be jaded alittle bit(even though it would be hard to forget being a POW for 5 years and how much you truly love America because of that).
Sarah Palin is pretty much the perfect politician and if they win this election, I am going to bet that Palin will be president in 4-8 years!
If you were referring to what I said, I am sorry. I do know that there is a difference. Democrats are decent people, Obama-Democrats have websites like The Daily Koz and Moveon.org, and have memories that last less than a day(at least it seems like they do because they seem to not notice Obama switch positions on different issues each day).
I have noticed Obama people are somewhat big time BLIND!!! No matter what he does, he does no wrong!!! His credentials are bogas and corrupt. He got in with the Chicago Machine and that is what pushed him forward. He is smart, I will give him that. But the Obama people need to start opening their eyes. Since when is raising taxes going to give the US more jobs? It will take away more, it has been done in the past and failed. If you follow him now and put more government on the payroll and raise business taxes, products go up in price, businesses pay more taxes, they also have to pay more for their products, therefore, use your brains instead of the other end, the business will have to lay off people because they won’t even be able to make enough profit to stay in business unless they fire some people. Loss of jobs that is all that Obama will accomplish. By the way, the VP is important to the United States of America. If the President is unable to fulfill their duties the Vice President must take over and do them. So whoever thing the VP position is not important really needs to study the Constitution of the United States of America!!! There is a reason there is just not one person up there!!! It’s called freedom and not to create a Dictatorship!!!That is in answer to whoever thinks we don’t also vote for the VP.

Who ever wrote the list of 61 faults ought tom go back should do a little more research. Most of the things he mentions were defeated by the democratic controlled congress and no one else.

I think the speech was great, however are we voting for the President or the VP?
The VP from what I have come to know is totally irrelevent. Although she has more executive experience than Obama does, I don’t see why there is a big deal out of it. Oh…I’m sorry it is just an excuse because Obama doesn’t have experience.
