I want to say that as a black man I am just exited about the fact that a black man in America may become president. I am disgusted in black people that support others, the thought that anybody who is black in this country could forget how our people bled and died for us the right to vote and the right to get an education. We have been through too much. Now with that being said I do not believe that we should vote for Obama, just because he is black, but that we should not be monkeys for the republican party. That is just plain stupid! I don’t believe that we should be the poster child for the party that does not even care the least bit about our race and the issues we face. Conservatives in this country have the moral stance, they are the people of pro-life, they are the people against same-sex marriage. But they have failed to bring up everyone, and as long as anyone in America is in trouble or feels as if they do not have anyone fighting for them, nor do they have a government that believes everyone should have the same opportunities then we have really failed as a people white or black.

Far as I can see, most Democratic appointments are quota-based - “Hey Joe we need a black/woman/latino/gay/disabled (delete as necessary) person for the job, go find me one.”

If you want true freedom from discrimination (and I have seen more real discrimination first-hand than you ever will), appoint the best person to the job, no matter the race/sex/whatever.

You can’t undo the wrongs of the past by adding new, different wrongs.

I am totally embarrassed of the Democratic Party. I can no longer support the party. Clinton supporters have felt cheated and I address this letter to all of them.

This primary has revealed DNC “leadership” to be corrupt, mean-spirited, and lacking respect for basic democratic principles. They have completely and effectively ceded the moral high ground to Republicans at this point.

1. We have seen the race card played, with assistance from both Dean and Brazile.
2. We have seen rampant sexism with no objection by the DNC.
3. We have seen the superdelegates endorse as quid-pro-quo for campaign contributions.
4. We have seen arm-twisting of the congressional delegates by “neutral” Nancy Pelosi to declare for Obama.
5. We have seen an unabashed ageism campaign against John McCain, calling him “confused”, and that he has “lost his bearings”.
6. We’ve seen a softening of support for the gay and lesbian community.
7. We’ve seen caucus cheating.
8. We’ve seen intimidation of Hillary supporters, hack attacks and coordinated threats against voters and media that dare to dissent.
9. We’ve seen manipulation of the party nominating system and media to favor one candidate over another and the outright redistribution of votes cast for one Hillary and given to Obama.
This is now a democratic party in name only.

I hate to think that there will be riots no matter who wins. Why “dirty” this historic time. Either way, whomever wins or loses, do not..any of us…disrespect our humanity or dignity as AMERICANS!

Adrian, you are saying that even though black people should not vote for Obama just because he is black, but they should vote for him because the other guy is white? That sum it up? That is pretty racist. Of course, Obama is racist so I completely understand.

As others have said, it was a republican that freed the slaves and it was a republican that appointed a black woman to the highest position in politics that a black person has ever served. I am sure that you consider Powell and Rice “sell-outs” because they actually made it in life. It’s just that you are completely ignorant to anything going on in politics and it is just embarassing that you are going to be able to vote. I do not think anyone that does not know where their politicians actually stand on issues and their politicians plan to back their stance on issues should be allowed to vote!

You did not talk about one single issue as a reason for supporting Obama. Hell, I would have respected you more, and I think everyone here would have respected you more, if you actually did say that its because of one of his issues. But no, you said that even though you do not like Obama, all black people should vote for Obama. This is the sort of mindset that is keeping many minorities down. Is it not surprising that most minorities have supported Democrats for about 45 years, yet black and latino neighborhoods are still having problems that these democrats promise to fix? I know for a fact that a large black neighborhood near where I live has gone down hill constantly for the past 25 years! I know several young men and women from this neighborhood that dont want people to do everything for them, but they want people to give them a chance and to help out alittle if they need it while trying to rebuild their community. These same people definitely do not trust democrats, but they spend every day working 10-15 hours and do not even have the chance to vote. Some good supporting the democrats has done, eh? Although, over the last 3-4 years, this neighborhood has been getting better. It has become somewhat safer for the residence in the neighborhood, and businesses are coming back to the area, and gangs are slowly being pushed out. This isnt due to a democrat president or a democrat senator, it is due to a republican governor. Black schools in my area have seen more funding in the last 6 years than they ever saw since they were built!

But because Obama is 6.75% black, you are going to vote for him. Interesting. It doesnt even matter if he is the worst thing for this country, you would still vote for him because of the color of his skin. I am saddened to call you a fellow American…so I dont think I will, as Americans want what is best for this country and a 1 term senator with 143 days of national political experience who has close ties to a terrorist, felon, and a priest who hates America is not what is best for America.

A 1-term senator running for president that says he is ‘just like us’, and says that McCain is out of touch. That he is ‘just like us in the middle class’, and is the same 1-term senator whose house is worth $2 million dollars and as a civil rights lawyer, “being an honest, decent man” he charged $175 an hour. This one term senator is not what is best for America!

Obviously this does not matter to you, because his skin is black. Interesting how racist what you said is!

Is it just me, or does Obama’s campaign feel like a hostile takeover/coup of our government, by slowly getting everyone out of his way no matter what it takes, however cheap, dirty and disgusting they have to be, or what lies they have to spread?

I am so very honored to have read these posts (with the exception of Adrian’s, which is full of NCAAP and ACLU hype). Thank you, everyone, for pointing out that we need to overlook the Obama campaign’s racist-card tactics. It is good to know that there are people who understand that racism is not “white man against black, latino, asian, orange, green, etc, etc man”. It is instead anyone against anyone because of that person’s race, color of skin. If only the rest of our fellow Americans would be strong enough to stand up and vote for the person they think is best for the office of President of this great country! But alas, there are many who will continue to trumpet the call of “racism” and forget that the one who is most racist is the man they are calling “black”.

The democrats have been in control of Congress under Bush, and that is a big reason he cannot get much accomplished that he has set out to do.
