Breaking: Sarah Palin’s 17-Year old daughter is pregnant
ST. PAUL (Reuters) - The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

Bristol Palin, one of Alaska Gov. Palin’s five children with her husband, Todd, is about five months pregnant and is going to keep the child and marry the father, the Palins said in a statement released by the campaign of Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
Bristol Palin made the decision on her own to keep the baby, McCain aides said.
“We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us,” the Palins’ statement said.

errrr …. on a political note — for those who want to “go there” — Too bad Barry Soetoro (aka Barack Obama) didn’t have parents as supportive as Bristol’s — his life might not have included such questionable characters as …. nevermind — and I’m not so sure that Biden wants his “other” son’s legal probs made a political issue, either ….

This is perfect. The pro-family, pro-Christian right now has a poster child. Marriage out of wedlock, for a 17-year old child? No problem! She has supportive parents so all problems are forgotten, including those questions about the parenting ability of the Palins and the job they’ve taught their own daughter about abstinence when they’re out preaching the same to the masses. Wonderful job!
No, we shouldn’t attack the child. She made a bad decision and she (and Levi) will have to live with the decision for the rest of her life. But we sure as heck can attack Sarah and Todd about their parenting. They preach abstinence and Christian morals but apparently not under their own roof? And somehow this woman is ready to be President if John Sidney McCain’s health fails?
You Republicans and Conservatives are so tunnel-visioned that you’ll support the right regardless of what they’ve done. You’ll attack Barack’s parents rather than condemning the actions of Bristol. It’s pathetic, really.
I’m still convinced that you’re all closet racists. After all, you STILL insist on referring to Barack Obama by his mother’s last name (which he didn’t take) or by his middle name because it sounds “A-rab” and he “must be a muslim type”. Just imagine saying that last sentence with a deep Southern hick drawl. That’s what I do when I read all this uneducated, backwater talk.
In response to Derek. Marriage out of “Wedlock” makes no sense. Talk about uneducated. The Palins along with all other Christian parents, can only love on their children and teach them good morals and what the bible reflects. People make mistakes, it is after the mistake is made that determines the character of a young man or woman. I am thankful that the Palin’s daughter has chosen to keep her child and take responsibility for her actions. That is way more than I can say for a lot of people. You know the ones I mean. You and people like you that think it is ok to kill babies. Wake up Derek, there is a God and we will stand before Him one day, I am a Republican, but I am first a child of the Living God, and I can’t vote for a man that says it is ok to kill an innocent baby.

Not only is the 44-year old Mom, Sarah Palin, more qualified to be president than Barack Obama, her daughter, 17-year old Bristol Palin, is more responsible and mature than 48-year old Barack Obama. Bristol and her husband-to-be have chosen to take the difficult but responsible path - marry at a young age, have the baby, raise it, and (I’m sure) love it. Barack has, with his “punishment” comments about what to do about unintended pregnancies, made his position clear - take the easy but irresponsible and immature way out by aborting the unintended fetus so as to avoid having to miss out on the carefree pleasures of the life of a young and single adult (parties, night clubs, late nights spent having a good time). All-night parties with friends is a lot more fun than sleepless nights spent burping a newborn.
Bristol, I am proud of you, as I am sure your parents are. It is not easy to make a 65-year old man proud of a 17-year girl, but you have managed to do it by making such a mature decision. You have shown yourself to be more responsible and mature than some 48-year-olds I know.

Derek, Derek Derek…..Many liberal bloggers are upset that Bristol Palin didn’t make an appointment at Planned Parenthood ASAP, lie to her parents, go behind their backs and abort a “surprise” zygote/embryo/fetus. I think that scenario is an excellent description of liberal “family values”.
P.S. Derek - - We’re not closet racists….you have us confused with the hypersensitive Left who identify EVERYONE by their color and ethnicity. If we like and admire someone, it’s their character we appreciate (i.e.Thomas Sowell, Michael Steele, Walter Williams, etc.) If we distrust a person due to REPEATED character “flaws” or lack of morals, we don’t care about their race or ethnicity (i.e. Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi)

Yes, she comes from an abstinence family. But the daughter made her choice, it’s not like Sarah was in the room with her saying, “yeah, honey go ahead”. Her daughter was old enough to make that choice, whether it was her mom’s choice or not.
Hooray for abstinence only education! Like Palin said, it is 100% effective. Well, that is, unless you do what most kids do and totally ignore it.
Sarah Palin is no stranger to this. She also got pregnant with Track when she wasn’t married. Like mother, like daughter. What a role model!
Her and Levi, the self-proclaimed “redneck” who loves “fuckin’ chillin’ and shit,” will make a lovely couple. Not quite as good as John “I cheated on my first wife while she was in the hospital” McCain and Sarah “do as I preach, not as I do” Palin - but still lovely.
But in all seriousness, why do we allow a subset of the population’s religious beliefs interfere with sound scientifically-grounded public policy?
Finally, a candidate worth talking about, and the Obama campaign can’t wait to start throwing mud and trying to discredit the candidate. Oh, isn’t that a Clinton tactic too? Maybe that’s how campaigns are won.
If this was Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears sister (16 and now delivered - oh, and she met her guy in church - they are “Christian”), Paris Hilton, etc. no one would care, and the media would plaster it all over the place. and glamorize the event. Bristol is not running for office so leave the kids out of it.
Can we please use the common sense that everyone who has posted thus far is claiming to have and remember that we are ALL human?!?! Just because someone claims to be Christian does not mean they are all of a sudden perfect! If you would like to know what it truly means to be a Christian, read the Bible, ask a Christian whom you admire (we all know one whether we want to admit it or not) what it means to them to have the forgiveness of sins? Just because Christ died in our place does not mean we will never again sin. It means that even though we are a fallen race(human), we have the capability and the desire (once Christian) to make the right decision or make the wrong one and live with the consequences. We also have the fabulous ability to go to our Heavenly Father and ask His forgiveness and then RECEIVE IT. “Go forth and sin no more.” It takes consciouse effort but can any one of us honestly say that we stop and think about every single action we make in even a single day? And, yes, I realize that I will take hits for standing up for my faith. May this bless someone this day!
