In “Previous Public Jobs”, you left out Gov. Palin’s chairmanship of the Alaska Oil and Gas Commission
Put in more about that gas pipeline. It’s a big executive and legislative achievement she can point to. Since it goes across Canada that means the Canadians had to be negotiated with as well.
Check out this article from Investor’s Business Daily a couple of weeks ago… Palin’s Gas Pipeline Isn’t Hot Air http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=303693123946167&kw=palin
Palin considers the $26 billion project her biggest accomplishment as governor. “It was not easy,” she told IBD. “Alaska has been hoping and dreaming for a natural gas pipeline for decades. What it took was getting off the dime and creating a competitive market in Alaska.”
Great chart - loved it! Sarah Palin has more integrity and experience in her little finger than obama does in his entire body and the Dems are terrified of her. And they should be - she will bring millions of women voters to the polls in November and hand obama his big egotistical head on a platter.
McCain/Palin 08!!!
In “Athletic prowess,” the fact that she was captain of a state championship high school basketball team was left out.
This is a great bunch of information, but I think the age on Obama is wrong. I think he just turned 47
-Robert-
And the other comments about Sarah Palin are right. She is an amazing woman, who will be a great VP, and if, heaven forbid something happen to McCain, she would make a really good president. The woman is smart, has a great head on her shoulders, she is conservative, and she is honest. What more could you want in a politician?
-Robert-
When you turn on the news, every station talks about how unqualified Palin is for VP, compared to Obama as the President of America. I can’t see how people can even vote for Barak Obama with his lack of credentials. As soon as he is elected he gets his wife a 160% pay raise and a million dollar taxpayers earmark where she works. Obama couldn’t wait to be corrupt, and as president it scares me that he might win. America wake up!!!
Nice comparison chart. It could be added that when she became Governor she sold the Governor’s Jet on Ebay and fired the chef, telling him thanks but no thanks I can make my kids their sandwiches myself. Like Gov. Mike Huckabee said, Sarah Palin made more important decisions on a daily basis as Governor than Barack Obama has made in his entire time in the U.S. Senate most of which has been spent running for President.
Unfortunately, America is not listening to a bunch of tinfoil hat wearing, angry Hillary Huggers. You losers need to come back to the real world. That is all!
Sarah Palin is an answer from God! Her experience, Intellect & her Resume make her more than ready to answer that 3 AM call on day one if the need should arise. Let us all place our energy on supporting the McCain / Palin ticket and totally ignore the idgits that try to slam her to protect bo. I have never accepted that the God I worship would allow a self serving messiah wannabe get elected to the country He rules regardless to those that try so hard to shut Him out. Beautiful comparison and forget the 47/48 age of bo. Who cares?
this was so truthful and great thank you for researching and showing that palin is more qualified than obama
and we know she is certainly way more honest he lies about anything and you cant depend on any of his promises.
in his latest convention speach he promised not to raise taxes but in the other breath he told the americian people not to get used to the cars they are driving and not to get used to the kind of food they are eating. he is scary.
WE LOVE IT. IT’S GREAT. PASS IT ON TO THE MEDIA.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND ENERGY IN COMPILING THIS.
McCAIN-PALIN 2008 AND HILLARY-ANYBODY 2012
Great work! Superb drollery and admirable restraint.
SOme suggestions —
That was TWO opponents whose sealed divorce records were suddenly made public.
And you forgot to mention that Obama has in his “accomplishments” column, that he defeated the perennial candidate, Alan Keyes. Keyes was a last-minute, carpetbagger replacement for the Republican Senate Race. And Keyes got 30 per cent of the vote - about 12 times his usual result.
And minor edits.
Under “athletic prowess” that should read:
Has reporters tailing him to the gym and then to the hospital because his little bumbum hurts.
Under Family Affairs:
Brother lives in a hut in Nairobi on $12 per year; grandmother lives in a tiny hut without electricity or water.
You should include in the athletic part the fact that she was a pointguard for her high school/college basketball teams, was nicknamed Sarah “Barracuda”. Also include that Obama shot a 3-pointer once, and is terrible at bowling.
You left out one environmental and/or pork category achievement of Sarah’s —-she sold the jet used by her predecessor and now takes commercial airlines or drives herself to meetings in her state.
Palin’s credentials and accomplishments really put Obama’s to shame. Obama is not only unqualified to be president, but his idealogy is dangerous - as evidenced by his support of Odinga in Kenya (A muslim sympathizer, for those that do not already know.). Obama was already going down before McCain selected Palin for VP. The expected “bump” in the polls is very little to show for the outrageous expense in putting on his ego-driven rock concert. Same trick he used in Germany - using music to benefit from the excitement created by a musical event. What most pundits have missed is the fact that Obama has been obsessed with imitating JFK and that the “temple set” designed by an Architectural firm HNTB, which specializes in sports venues, was trying to recreate a set that combines the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, and the German Brandenburg Gate into one magnificent subliminal manipulation extravaganza. (Sorry about all the mispelling.) In any case, this shows the disrespect he has for the average American voter. Women experiencing buyer’s remorse with Obama have been given another chance to get it right in November. I am and will always be an Independent, but I know that the Republicans are not going to stand by silently while another woman is totally disrespected by the Liberal Media and the Hollywood plastic-fantastics. Hillary Clinton was the Democrats sure win, and they traded that in for a historic event. Well they now have that, but unfortunately for them, that is all they’re going to get this time around.
Alaska’s population is greater than that of North Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming. Alaska is more than twice the size of Texas. Alaska borders Russia and Canada, with many official and commercial relationship to each. Alaska has more exploitable mineral wealth than most nations. To be governor of Alaska is no small matter.
It is obvious the Dems are frightened of Sarah…it’s only been two days and she has gotten more negative attention from the left than Sen.McCain.
McCain/Palin has my vote !
Another category should be added - Fiscal Responsibility. Palin - used $400 million excess revenues from increased gas prices to invest in pipeline for Americas energy independence. Obama - Chaired board of Annenburg Challenge with William Ayers for four years. Investing $160 million in additional bureacracy in Chicago schools netting no improvement in teacher and student results.
Barack and Sarah would actually make a perfect team. He’s the rockstar of the Democrats, she’s the superstar of the GOP.
He’s the all star lead of his HS and college basketball team, she was the varsity point guard for her HS team.
They both want to change America.
Obama/Palin 08
I thought Barack Obamas nickname was Barry O’Bomber from his H.S. Basketball days.
Thats where Palin got her Barracuda nickname, H.S. Basketball!
Someone needs to put that up on the screen at the convention for everyone to see besides us. Wow! That should make a lot of people see how ridiculous BO is.
Thanks Hugh, This is the very same comparison that Mr. McCain used to make his veep choice. As a blue-dog dem, I am totally on board with the choice. Not since Reagan, have I been so motivated. Mr. McCain WILL cement his legacy as a maverick, and be known for one of the biggest shockers in political history. Sarah will become known, loved by conservatives, and in four years, will be there to crush Hillary. John McCain, is a brilliant man. Watch and see.
NoBama
pieces like this that are so clearly biased in one direction lose all credibility. the republicans have had more than their chance to make this world a better place and have lost a ton of american equity throughout the world. i would almost rather vote for a turnip than another republican.
Great article!!!
Republicans should use this information in one commercial after another.
Win or Lose, I love this pick of Palin. She seems so genuine and sincere, I feel like I am witnessing the new Ronald Reagan.l
Great Chart!!! I wish Palin was an independent, Green Party Member or a Democrat. I agree that Palin is more impressive than Obama. McCain is certainly more respectful of Hillary Democrats and the women’s vote than Obama. Thanks for this.
Still, Republicans and Democrats are two sides of the same corrupt coin. For that reason my statement this year will be clear. I’m voting for woemn, and we need new Parties. Hillary needs to get off the Democratic whimp team and start a new Party. Republicans are not for Peace and Not for a women’s right to choose. Don’t let the choice of one good woman fool you, Republicans are not the answer if we want change and neither is the phoney, underhanded team of Obama/Axelrod.
I’m voting for the Green Party and my vote will say Yes for Women. No Obama. No Sexist Democrats. No Republicans. We need new parties.
Thanks for a great summary of the facts.
We’ve all heard that Obama has a lot of experience as a “community organizer,” and what is that?
Well I read somewhere out there that a commmunity organizer is a guy who sneaks around in the middle of the night stapling junk notices to your telephone pole.
Need to know what is the truth on the “firing” of State TooperWooten to supposedly protect her siser in messy divorce- will this hurt her?
I love it! A couple of additions to your chart would be great:
Under both Executive Experience and Private Sector Experience, you really need to include “Business Owner.” For many people this is much more valuable experience than salmon fishing!
Under Foreign Policy Experience, it would be helpful to include “Negotiated a pipeline deal with Canada that brought significant benefit to her state.” Having her state border two foreign countries undoubtedly gives her more foreign experience than Obama, but the fact that she has successfully negotiated a deal with one of those foreign countries - a deal that benefitted her state - indicates she has more diplomatic expertise than the vast majority of state governors.
Thanks again for the great recap of exactly why Sarah Palin is more qualified to be VP than Obama is to be President. ![]()
The Dems are attacking Palin’s experience? Let’s compare:
He entered the Senate the same time she entered the Executive mansion;
While he was giving speeches and running for President, she was running the nation’s largest state;
He says hes for change, she has cleaned up Alaska;
While he was voting “present” in the Illinois House, she was working as mayor;
While he talks about alternative energy plans; she has been working to open on-shore and off-shore oil and gas reserves;
He plays basketball, she was point guard for the state championship team;
He’s a talker, she’s a doer!
Great work!
How about adding a quote from each?
“I’m looking at (Trig) right now, and I see perfection. Yeah, he has an extra chromosome. I keep thinking, in our world, what is normal and what is perfect?”
“I’ve got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.”
It’s ironic that in Obama vs. Palin, the Top of the Democrat ticket doesn’t even stack up against the #2 for the Republicans. Think about that for a second - and what becomes implied is that Obama is not even in the same league as McCain!
Also, regarding “experience” and whether Sarah is ready to step into the Presidency - well, two things. First, she gets to be apprentice for a while (not so with Obama). And second, if god forbid McCain had to be replaced, wouldn’t Sarah Palin get to choose a new VP? Presumably, she could pick somebody with more foreign policy experience (just like Obama did with Biden). That is precisely what the democrats did - and so there goes that argument!
Thank you for facts the MSM fear, will distort or simply suppress. MSM is Big Brother BHO’s “1984″-Outer Party” THOUGHT POLICE…Keep up the good work. As Czeslaw Milosz; Alexsandr Solzhenitsyn; T.S.Eliot; & Jesus Christ per The New Testament proclaims: THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE…
Arthur F. McVarish, Houston
Compliments galore for the exceptional arrayed comparison of Sarah Palin vs. Barack Obama: WOW……poor BHO, his accomplishment history is near negligible.
Maybe Eleanor Clift, contributing journalist to Newsweek, MSNBC, etc., etc.; who stated yesterday that upon McCain’s announcement, laughter was heard throughout most newsrooms will rue the day that she exposed her childish (jealous) character.
Well, Eleanor, I think your candidate (BHO), by comparison, is an absolute neophyte.
I was a Republican since 1964. I changed to Independent during the Clinton years because the Republicans turned weak. Now I am back and thrilled. Reagan has risen!
The chart is excellent, it highlights “accomplishments and results” vs “experience”…and no need to engage in snark, it doesn’t add to constructive dialogue.
Is this chart biased? Sure…its politics. I’m a deeply cynical and skeptical independent voter, Senator Obama’s supporters can construct such a chart, only they have to include the info that is on this chart; anything less is intellectually dishonest. They can include their own info on both sides as long as it is factual. Remember John Adam’s admonishment: Facts are stubborn things.
And why is the Govenor being compared to Senator Obama. The logical comparison is between the two veep picks. I do understand that the message is that Senator Obama can’t even compare favorably to Governor - to which I admit I must agree. Perhaps a follow up chart between both presidential candidates will drive home that point.
Great (and humorous) comparison. How about one with Sarah and
Joe Biden. Can’t wait for the Veep Debate.
You have left out Obama’s desire to be the “Commander of Chief of the 58 states of America.” There is also a lack of who in the MSM has endorsed the candidates:
Palin- probably local nespapers/periodicals (they don’t count as MSM, so really- None)
Obama- NYTimes, Newsweek (Appearing 7 times on the cover), MSNBC, CNN, et al.
Feel free to use any of these!
I have been totaly disappointed in the selection of both presidental candidates. I absolutly didn’t like either one but didn’t want to waste my vote. Now after reading your great column and reading other coments and after the naming of Mrs. Palin as his VP running mate I have found a man/women team I can vote for….. McCain/Palin.
The dimocrats are hating life about now, wishing they had a presidential candidate even half as qualified as the GOP’s vice-presidential candidate. Then there’s the dimocrats’ vice-presidential candidate, the plagiarist “Hair-plug” Biden. Just how much “change” do they think a person who has been in Congress for 36 years and who depended on the preserving of the “status quo” to help keep him there will be willing to sign on for?
Another side by side category - Attitudes Toward Private Jets. Palin - sold state private jet on Ebay because it was wateful; Obama - smeared out the American flag on campaign jet and replaced it with campaign seal; installed luxury seating in his cabin, his seat has ‘President Obama’ stiched into the leather.
What a fantastic comparison. It counters every backwater slam that is coming out of the democrat coffers.
Democrats have their panties all in a tither. This pick caught them completely by surprise, they don’t know how to attack it.
What is going to happen next is old Joe is going to come up “sick” and Hitlery will step up as VP to save the country.
Palin/McCain in 08.
This is really good. It summarizes everything you need to know about the two. The choice is so clear.
John McCain has made a wonderful selection, which shows he has the necessary judgement to be a great president.
You might add under that abortion thingy that she doesn’t believe she had a RIGHT to CHOOSE whether to carry the child to term.
No choice, no problem.
Just shows a bit of stupidity in getting pregnant after 40 though.
“Nation’s largest state…”
Oooh, yeah, LOTS of land.
Not so many people, tho.
Governing people is a whole lot larger than governing land, especially when you get to hand out checks to every citizen by exploiting the natural resources in all that land.
I guess that’s why Bush the Sequel got elected too, Texas is BIG. Didn’t matter that governor is about the fifth most important position in the Texas government.
Land area = expertise, that’s the ticket.
And Delaware? It’s a teeny, tiny state, so Biden must have NO experience at ALL.
Oh yeah, Alaska is near Russia, too. So that gives her ooodles of foreign policy experience.
“Sarah Palin is an answer from God!”
Is that the same God that brought us the Boy Idiot and his controller Darth Cheney.
Heaven can’t help us if that God is really doing this.
Why does God hate America?
Re: Military Affairs experience
You need to see this:
http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=NWQ2YzMyNGViMmIyY2I0MTliYjRjYmU4MmMxOWZjODA=
Great information. Giving it in chart form so that both sides could be compared it very helpful. Too bad no one did this with McCain and Ohbama. You have helped me make up my mind. McCain and Palin for me!!!
great read. I would love to a one on one basketball game between Sarah and Obama. She would probably win! What fun!!!
THANK YOU I’m Canadian and she’s my kinda lady.
This certainly put everything into perspective. She’s awesome and Obama’s just a professional ‘underdog’.
I love and adore her and I’m not even a lesbian. LOL
McCain made a brilliant choice. YOU RULE! John and Sarah!!!
We need to mention that Obama never challenged the corrupt Chicago, Cook County and Illinois Democratic machine. He was just a “go along, get along” Illinois Democrat. When he had a chance to actually contribute to reform in the last Cook County election for Cook County Board President by endorsing a Democrat reformer, he actually endorsed the Daley endorsed candidate Todd Stroger, the son of the former Board President. Todd Stroger is a tax and spend politician and the newspapers have reported his hiring of relatives and political cronies. With an increased County tax pushed by Todd Stroger, Chicago now has the highest sales tax in these United States. So much for change, when he had the chance to do something, he punted so as not to anger the political bosses. Sarah Palin did challenge her party and got results. The only change Obama will bring to Washington is the the Chicago and Illinois Democratic Machine politics. They say all politics is local but on the local level he did not deliver any change. As for the experience argument Sarah Palin’s experience is executive experience. Why is that Senators rarely are elected President? No management or executive experience. The argument should also be about achievement and accomplishment. Obama, since he graduated law school, has achieved nothing and accomplished less. His election to the Senate was the result of a poorly handled Republican effort (as usual in Illinois, since they are in bed with the Dems), and a purported sex scandal raised by the Chicago Tribune against the Repub nominee.
Under ‘athletic prowess’ it should be mentioned that Obama may be a smoker. Michelle Obama said that her husband was a smoker and she was trying to get him to quit….I don’t know if he still is, but I believe it was in an interview with Barbara Walters that this was mentioned. Also, the Obamas live in a $4 million dollar house. What sort of property does Governor Palin own?
I typed in “Sarah Palin accomplishments” into yahoo and this came up.
Half of this was tongue in cheek, I wish you would have taken this seriously and done a fair and balanced view on the subject. Honestly, while personal responsibility for tune-ups and tire pressure were mentioned… that is not Obama’s only stance on the subject. I really wish I could find Facts that weren’t preselected by the two extremes side of both parties.
There may be bias here… but the truth in what was written justifies it. I am an old ‘independent’ WW II Vet who voted for Harry Truman and has called every Presidential vote since. With the introduction of PALIN I will both ‘call’ and vote for McCain as our next prez. Visit my website at http://www.capndee.com for TRUTH about Obama, and see how an old geezer who has been around awhile puts family and country first.
Amen!!!! Amen!!!!!Amen!!!
Great Article - Great Comparisons!
Needs to be sent to Hannity & Colmes - would make a great
show for them!
If there is any bias it is justified by the truthful comparison. To this old WW II vet, Palin was a wise choice. If you seek more truth on Obama’s background, check out my website, http://www.capndee.com
You forgot PTA and soccer mom… that’s important to know for someone who might have to answer the phone in the White House at three AM.
I am a Hillary supporter, now voting for McCain-Palin because of their experience, patriotism, record of accomplishments and integrity. I’ve ordered my bumper sticker and will proudly display it next to my Hillary and “got experience?” stickers. Go McCain-Palin!!!
Obama is an empty suit, this woman has far more experience than Obama. Everything that has transpired duing the Bush administration was rushed along by the Democrats, they are complicit. We have control of the House and Senate and what has that gotten us, Fisa with retro immunity for the telecom people thanks mostly to the One. Our leadership is a joke of the not so funny kind.
Country before party!!
Also, I think there needs to be some mention, not in this chart, about how Obama made a huge VP mistake (for the ages) and not McCain.
Obama should have taken Hillary, she even said she would be honored to be his VP, but his ego was too big. He under-estimated her supporters, just assuming they’d all fall in line come November. Now all of a sudden he’s in a pickle with PUMA and 30% of her supporters saying they’ll defect to McCain. While I do think that number may be slightly inflated, that’s still a sizeable amount.
As a former Hillary supporter I cannot express how well Obamania and the news media did at alienating her voters. Whether it was the pure, biased, viciousness she and her husband were attacked or the way a large margin of her supporters were categorized as “lesser educated” (I think it should have been more and less real world experience, since his college supporters are generally super-idealists who believe communism can work and boycotting Walmart will hurt the CEOs) or when he made that comment about Pennsylvanians having antipathy towards others “not like them” (the tail-end of that statement conveinently ignored).
She was a choice so obvious he had to NOT pick her on purpose. Biden was picked as an attack dog and for his massive foreign policy experience (Biden looks to take on the Cheney role, as far as being the guy running things, not on policy obviously) but the problem with this, aside from the fact Biden doesn’t excite anyone, is that he comes with a ton of controversy most notably his son being a registered washington lobbyist…meanwhile Hillary’s dirty laundry was and has been out in the open.
Sarah was a bold choice, and a smart one, and I think more light should be set on the already ramifications of Obama’s massive running mate blunder.
Also Compare Biden’s and Palin’s responsibilities:
Palin - Governor
Biden - U.S. Senator
population AK - 700,000
DE - 850,000
size - AK - 656,000 sq. mi. (800 miles by 1500 miles)
DE - 2,500 sq. mi (30 mi by 96 mi)
Anchorage, AK - 1960 sq. mi.
Under “What they’ve done to live that theme” you should add defeating the Billary Clinton Machine for Obama. I’m anti-Obama, but we should give him props for that significant achievement. I think it’s the only concrete thing he’s done to really impress me. Doesn’t change the bottom line though: McCain/Palin all the way.
barack obama is a socialite and is running for president to be the black race president.if hes elected you wil have to say ‘yes, sir’ and “NO sir” to ALL blacks cause it is their time-yes,we can, walk to close and you’ll get cursed and they say -”it;s out time, honkey, get outta the way!you will see most government programs go to blacks and 840 billion to africa that has a terrorist leader that burned, looted. killed and forced people to vote for him at gunpoint.and other countries.everything will eventually be gov’t controled under him!
Awesome work! It’s about time that someone held our news organizations accountable for their selective approach to journalism. I would have lived my entire life without finding this on any printed source. God Bless you all!
I do not believe anyone is qualified to be President of the United States of America unless they are serving their second term as President. They will most certainly have experience as being the President. Are they qualified to be President of the United States of America just because they were president?
President G.W. Bush did not have any experience, but he was elected and chose Dick Cheney as his VP, who has huge amounts of experience. None as President of the United States.
Have you naysayers forgotten about the members of a President’s Cabinet? Governor Sarah Palin has experience as council member of Wasilla, AK, Mayor of Wasilla, AK, as Governor of Alaska and Commander-in-Chief of the Alaska National Guard.
The duties and responsibilities of all these positions required decisions that affected thousands of people and millions of dollars in finance. As Commander-in-Chief she made the decision to send the Alaska Guard to Iraq to liberate the Iraqi’s from Saddam Hussein and help our country fight the terrorists there rather than on our streets.
Our President, as Commander-in-Chief, sent our military to Afghanistan, Iraq and other places round the world to fight terrorism. Both, President Bush and Governor Palin, used the same procedure in making their decisions. They both called their advisors to meetings and gathered information to be used in reaching a decision which is their’s only to make.
Senators Obama and Biden have made decisions that have affected millions of people and billions of dollars in finance. Both of them made decisions that became law to allow millions of unborn babies to be killed. Both of them made decisions not to drill for oil and gas to begin the process of ending $700 billion dollars every year to countries that finance terrorism round the world.
The “Do Nothing Congress Energy Policy” of the Democrats is NO to everything pertaining to energy that will help prevent our American citizens from being enablers of terorism round the world with petroleum dollars.
This forces Americans to be enablers of terrorism. The Democrats have prevented drilling for oil and gas, oil shale, prevented construction of nuclear (clean energy) power plants and oil refineries for more than 30 years.
I did not know that a post has to agree with the analysis above, in other for it not to be deleted. However, all comparisons have to be made. Educationally, Obama is more sound than this woman. A graduate of columbia universities in political science and international relations. Havard law magna cum laud, president of the law review. taught constitutional law. Actually helped pass bill in the current senate who has a democratic majority. If you guys want to continue the gridlock go ahed, delete my post. However, to be fair–a governor of a state of 700K less than my county in FL, cannot be compared to the sound national and international knowledge obama has on issues. National issues like health care, education. So be fair, and a fair comparison, or e unfair, delete my post once more.
Obama is an attorney and spent 12 years teaching constitutional law at Harvard. What experience does Palin have with understanding the constitution and the law? A topic that old GWB seem to be lacking knowledge in also.
You left off this accomplishment of Obama

EXCELLENT COMPARISON! BRILLIANT OF MCCAIN TO PICK SARAH PALIN FOR VP. SPEAKING OF CHANGE THEY WILL INDEED BRING SINCERE AND MUCH NEEDED CHANGE TO CONGRESS AND THE SENATE WITH THEIR LEADERSHIP. WITH THE ELECTION OF THE MCCAIN/PALIN TICKET THERE IS NEW HOPE FOR A BETTER USA!
Yeah, it’s interesting how much time is being devoted to comparing the Republican VP candidate to the Democrat Presidential candidate. Realistically, they shouldn’t even be close. A presidential candidate should always blow a VP candidate out of the water. However, in this case, it’s exactly the opposite.
And yeah, there’s a lot of Palin smear going on since the announcement. Of course, that’s the easiest way to attack what you fear. While there may be laughing and shrugging off the Rebublican choice, a lot of it is out of legitimate concern. Palin is a strong choice for VP; perhaps not the one many Republicans would have chosen, but that does not make her a poor choice. Regardless of her position on some issues, she is a rally point for women wishing to see a woman advance in the White House. She is a symbol for women’s rights. Ignoring that would be a mistake.
And yes, she does appear to have far more executive experience than Obama has. Again though, a comparison between a Presidential candidate and a VP candidate. There shouldn’t even be room for comparison between those two roles. As an independent who has been absolutely fed up with Republican mismanagement of the executive office, a candidate like Palin makes this an interesting election. McCain wasn’t compelling enough for me to jump up and down over, but Palin is.
And I’m an old guy. I was a bit sketchy about a woman in the White House; but that’s probably because the previous option was Hillary Clinton, for whom my dead, decaying corpse wouldn’t even have voted. But I couldn’t be more pleased about Palin being selected for the ticket.
Obama is all talk and no action. He has done nothing for the American people but voted not to make English our language so press 1. He voted to give the illegal immigrants social security and our children who have worked hard will not get any. He says that he will not add taxes but wants to send $875000 to Africa for the poor which will come from additional taxes. America please look at his record before you vote. It is not a black or women thing it is who will run our country and repair it.
It is funny how some Democrats are saying they don’t like Sara, but don’t say why. Do you know why that is? They have nothing bad to say about her. She is as clean as a whistle. She does not seem to do anything bad and is pretty much a genuine person.
Unlike you know who….
Thanks for the wonderful table that puts these two in perspective. I’m a liberal Dem, a Hillary supporter, a PUMA who supports John McCain. I met him, along with Carly Fiorian, and I like them both immensely. What Obama and the DNC did to Hillary was abominable and they won’t get away with it.
This election is going to be about character and that’s why McCain-Palin will win.
Thank-you for the lists. Until 2 days ago, I didn’t know who Palin was. But everything I read about her and her speech with McCain on Friday, have me so excited. I was a “bitter” Hillary supporter; but not now. I donated yesterday to the McCain campaign for the first time. My husband (another disaffected Hillary supporter) and I intend to do everything possible to see that McCain/Palin not only win come November but win by a “landslide.”
McCain/Palin ‘08
This is a great summary of qualifications. With a couple of additions, mentioned earlier, it will be perfect.
Thank you for this effort.
I would be proud and honored to have this wonderful woman serve as vice president of our country. She far out qualifies Obama.
Not sure, but I don’t think that Michelle’s employer actually received the earmark in question. You may want to double-check that.
I suggest you give proper credit to Jeff Emanuel who actually did the work on this post at Redstate.com.
I can’t under stand the democrates they have the majority of Seats in the congress and Senate if they Wanted to stop the oil crises they could have run it through the White house they accused Bush and the vice President of haveing there hands in the oil bussiness and they are the cause of the gas high priceses but they still have the majority of seats in the white house doesn’t it seem strange they have not acted on this crises before now is it because they would loose there cut of the moneys from there own Oil company holdings Seems sort of suspious to me Huh? Kwaynee(Ben) in Cherokee. aqnd I think Balin has more experance then Obama as a leader she is the commander and Chief of the Alaskan National Guard. what has Obama ever commanded other then his Muslim Mouth.Put him in Office and instead of haveing to catch a plane to Iraq Where the terioriest are they would be driveing the president obama around. and his body guards would be the ones he picked from these forighn countries.
First I want it know I am Catholic
Second Sara is a gift from God, She doesn’t just talk the talk She does the walk, and when She gets there She lays it all at the foot of the Cross, Thank God for such a Woman of courage and Faith, this Protestant Woman I call my Sister in Christ!
How could anyone that Loves God, Country, Constitution, or Bill of rights vote for beezubeb or the democrat/socialist party.

Wow, what an exciting election this will be. We will get to experience history. Ronald Reagan must be smiling. McCain’s choice was brilliant! Sarah Palin will make us proud of women and America. I can’t wait to see how she goes face to face with Biden in a debate. You go girl!
The more I read the more I like this woman and now will go to my local Republican headquarters and get a McCain/Palin bumper sticker! And donate to the campaign!

Very KOOL chart. I’m sharing it with everyone. Thank you.
This is why I’m proudly wearing my McCain/Palin yarmulke at this year’s Rosh Hashanah services.
God bless John and Sarah.
Forgot one comparison……
Sarah Palin — Strong supporter of the State of Israel, and wonderful relationship with the Jewish community of Alaska.
Obama — Strong supporter of terrorist Palestinians, and wants to meet unconditionally with Arab leaders who hate Jews and want to detroy Israel.
What a stroke of genious on the part of John McCain in trumping Obama. Obama can talk the talk McCain walks the walk.
Hooray for Pro Life………can’t wait for the debates…
Gov, Palin you are a breath of fresh air in politics.
gosarahpalin
Obama entered Harvard Law School in late 1988 and at the end of his first year was selected as an editor of the Harvard Law Review based on his grades and a writing competition.[18] In his second year he was elected president of the Law Review, a full-time volunteer position functioning as editor-in-chief and supervising the law review’s staff of 80 editors.[19] Obama’s election in February 1990 as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review was widely reported and followed by several long, detailed profiles.[19] He graduated with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) magna cum laude from Harvard in 1991 and returned to Chicago where he had worked as a summer associate at the law firms of Sidley & Austin in 1989 and Hopkins & Sutter in 1990.
Twenty Items of Interest (v.30)…
1. Great side by side comparison - Sarah Palin vs. Barack Obama… if the Obama campaign really wants to attack her for “lack of experience” - don’t go there or do because it will be good for the McCain/Palin ticket and mak…
Thank you so much for doing this! The next time someone tells me how “exciting” and charismatic BHO is, I’ll just send this on to them. She’s NOT an advertising concept or a media creation, she’s an American original, of the best sort. McCain can’t seem to stop smiling, and who can blame him? The fact that Dems instantly seem rabid in denouncing her, tells you that this is a master-stroke.
Previous Public Jobs: Mayor of Wasilla, AK (1996-2002); President of Alaska Conference of Mayors;City Council member (1992-1996)
Executive Experience: Governor for 2 years;Mayor for 10
I can haz basic arithmetic?
Great stuff. A correction: According to the dates you provide, Palin was mayor for 8 years, not 10. Let’s not give the left any opportunity to dismiss the rest of the facts because we get one slightly wrong.
Biff, you’re partially misinformend: Obama did not teach Constitutional Law at Harvard. I believe he was an adjunct professor at the U of Chicago.
Governor Palin, I come from a typical Australian meld of English,Scottish, Irish and Cornish background whose rules of life were all “do the right thing” in spite of the vast spread of the various religious and political backgrounds.
A family gathering (after a few (or too many) bevvies)can be very interesting because of the political discussions. We are a very political family because we take different views of of what our parents, grandparents and great grandparents set us up for a good life in the (second) greatest country in the world.
There is not a hellava lot of difference between Alaska and Australia in so many things, but we have beaches on the doorstep of Sydney. You guys don’t have a big problem with melenomas.
I come from a Celtic backgound where the women were strong, hard and the centre of the family group. I am delighted that in the Anglosphere there are still the bases of normal discussion (without the nastiness)and that Grandparents can be seen as Grandparents and their children have the ability to launch their offspring into accomplishing the ultimate
accomplishment: The Mother of the World.
Great photies of the oldies!
Congratulations Madam Next President.

Stephen Eakin.
At first I worried about McCain’s selection for VP. I would have loved to see him choose Romney due to his acumen on the economy. Matter of fact, I wish Romney was our presidential candidate.
That being said, the more I hear and read of Sarah Palin the more impressed I am of her. She sounds like a breath of fresh air for Washington and someone that we could respect.
I believe she will be a great leader for us.
An excellent side-by-side. I will be posting this in its entirety at the RWRepublic (and probably commenting on it).
This is entertaining, but ineffective other than energizing the base.
Rather than make a joke of it, why not have an informed Obama supporter fill in the Obama side? The tongue-in- cheek jokes will disappear, but the result would be a better and more objective contrast. My sense is that it would be even more convincing about their differences, experience, etc., and would then have some credibility with people who are genuinely trying to make up their mind.
Having said that, as a part of the base, I love it!
I am a Conservative…The great President Ronald Regan is my hero.. HE was the ULTIMATE PRESIDENT….I am not fond of John McCain…It was going to be very difficult for me to “pull the lever” for him …NOW that has all changed…We have a female Ronald Regan just a heartbeat away from the Presidency…Maybe she can be the conservative we have longed for all these years….I was not happy when I heard of her selection. I was rooting for Mitt …But now that I see what she has done, he achievements …and her views…I am thrilled…Another Margaret Thatcher in the making…WE the people are very fortunate to have Sarah Palin as the “face of the future” (Get it all you RINOs ??? …Quit the liberal Republican mindset and realize that you base is CONSERVATIVE !!!!)
Kudos to McCain for a BRILLIANT choice …
Wow, that’s not a partisan listing or anything…
Funny how they left out scholastic achievements.
I like the commander in chief of the alaskan national guard bit. Uh, what orders has she given to the national guard in her 20 months as gov.? NONE = no military experience.
Nice piece of work, appreciate your style however, I must agree with comments from others, Ward and Editor to name 2, make this side by side factually legit comparison and distribute it to those who will not do the research and those who listen to tabloids and social conjecture.
By the way did you hear what Herman Munster (Kerry) said on George Stephanopoulos’s show? Wow, that guy…

The Republican incumbent defeated in the primary by Sarah Palin was former US Senator Frank Murkowski. There were and never had been rumors or charges of corruption against him. She defeated him fair and square and didn’t need corruption charges against him to do so. Please correct this; it is erroneous and does not help the historic candidacy of Sarah Palin. Thanks,

“As far as Obama’s experience v. Palin’s: Obama graduated with honors in law from Harvard, Obama choose to work in Chicago’s Southside to help the poor and middle class who had lost their jobs or had fallen on hard times. He also taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago (as president he does take an oath to uphold the US Constitution so understanding it is very important). He went into the state legislature and eventually became US Senator. He has traveled all over the world and met with world leaders and has their respect. His judgement on Iraq was truly right (he beleived we should have gone after the people who attacked us in Afghanistan, rather than divert our attention to someone who had no part in the terrorist attacks). While in elected office Obama has worked on a multitude of bills and has sat on various committees. In the legilature he sponsored bill a giving tax credits to low income workers, supported ethics and healthcare reform. Obama supported the Republican’s predatory mortgage lending regulations which were aimed at averting home foreclosures. He was re-elected two times. Obama was chairman of the Illinois Senate’s Health and Human Services Committee.
In the US Senate Obama was on the Senate Committees for Foreign Relations, Environment and Public Works and Veterans’ Affairs. He also became Chairman of the Senate’s subcommittee on European Affairs. Obama is a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. He co-sponsored legislation on nuclear safety, conventional arms (among others).
Palin, on the other hand, has a bachelors in Journalism from the University of Idaho, was mayor of a small town and has been governor of Alaska (with fewer people than Austin TX) for less than two years. Her legislation is good ethics reform, promoting oil drilling, and doing away with many pork-barrel projects, as well as lowering taxes.
So for those of you who believe that Obama does not have any experience or that Palin’s experience is better than his, I ask you to look at their records. I’ll take Obama’s vast and far broader experience over Palin’s thin experience (and she might be a new governor but there are many cities in the US with larger populations than her state) any day.

“Sarah Palin is an answer from God!”
Is that the SAME God that Dobson urged Conservative Christians to pray to that he rain on the Democrats parade last week?
He sure showed the Democrats what he thought of them!
Now watch what GREAT weather he is providing for the God Party meeting THIS WEEK in Saint Paul!
P.S.
(Well it’s been great enough for the Republicans to be spared the embarrassment of having their sitting President an

What an amazing political season! Obama Democrats are ignoring all truth and attacking Sarah Palin like rabid dogs. Reason: she is more qualified than Obama. Read:
