Obama Campaign Behind Anti-Palin Smear Site?
Suddenly appearing among the Google search results for “sarah palin gay,” a web site titled: Sarah Palin Supports Gay Rights.
Sarah Palin (GOV-Alaska-Republican), supports gay rights, says Anchorage Daily News.
Quote “Gov. Sarah Palin vetoed a bill Thursday that sought to block the state from giving public employee benefits such as health insurance to same-sex couples.” Quote “”It is the Governor’s intention to work with the legislature and to give the people of Alaska an opportunity to express their wishes and intentions whether these benefits should continue,” the statement from Palin’s administration said.”
Coghill said he’s interested in a new plan that would allow state employees to designate one person — maybe a same-sex partner, but also possibly a family member or roommate — who would be eligible for state-paid benefits. But the employee would have to pay to add that person to his or her benefits.”
Sarah Palin’s veto gave gays the same rights as married couples in Alaska.
A vote for McCain/Palin is a vote for gay marriage.

But look who’s really behind this.

Why, you’re redirected to none other than FightTheSmears.com, the official Barack Obama site that’s supposed to be defending him against smears.
Looks like they may have a second purpose: to generate a few smears of their own.

The dems are shaking in their boots. When the people find out about all of Sarah’s accomplishments they are toast.
I mean she is what every woman would love to be. Beautiful, smart, accomplished, sports ability. Damn she has it all and can do it all, without loosing her sex apeal. Watch out Obama, she will probably beat you in basketball too!!!

Who is doing the smear here? You are accusing the Obama campaign when all you have to do is look at the IP address and look at the other sites hosted there to see that none of them are connected with the Obama campaign. They even say it right on the from page.
Maybe use this new tool called “google” to see that Obama is out calling for his supporters to tone down their verbage against Palin.
Or maybe you could think for a minute and realize that Obama would be CRAZY to be trying to convince the public that Palin is moderate… why on earth would he want to do that? He needs to show how much of a fring wacko she is, not a normal middle of the road person.
This article sucks, but I bet you have no interest in doing anything other than smearing Obama so well done.
I’m confused. I think I’m misunderstanding something. It seems like you’re accusing the Obama Campain of smearing Gov. Palin by saying she agrees with gay rights. But how is saying that she’s for gay rights smearing her? Isn’t it good that she thinks they deserve equal rights?
OK, this is enough. I am a Democrat who is now voting Republican. Obama seems like a nice man, but has no experience to speak of and has questionable backers. Palin made quite a good impression and seems to be the right choice. I wish my party would get a clue!

I am surprised that a claim that Sarah Palin SUPPORTS gay rights is considered a smear. I THOUGHT THE PRINCIPAL WAS THAT WE ARE ALL EQUAL. If that is the American way, support of gay rights is ALL AMERICAN AND HONORABLE.
I see no reason for the Obama/Biden campaign to try “smearing” Ms Palin as a pro gay candidate when it is clear that they ARE against discrimination based on the gender of one’s life partner. I see no evidence that Sen. McCain or Gov. Palin will work to allow me to participate in the freedoms and rights which my countrymen have and are dying to preserve.
