Obama abandons 50-State Strategy - Writes off Florida and Ohio
So much for the 50 State Strategy, announced just one week ago. The Obama camp spins this as outlining several different paths to victory, but it sure looks like they are already on Plan B.
In a private pitch late last week to donors and former supporters of Hillary Rodham Clinton, Obama campaign manager David Plouffe outlined several alternatives to reaching the 270 electoral votes needed to win the White House that runs counter to the conventional wisdom of recent elections.
At a fundraiser held at a Washington brewery Friday, Plouffe told a largely young crowd that the electoral map would be fundamentally different from the one in 2004. Wins in Ohio and Florida would guarantee Obama the presidency if he holds onto the states won by Democrat John Kerry, Plouffe said, but those two battlegrounds aren’t required for victory.
Florida, which has 27 electoral votes this year, gave the presidency to George W. Bush in the disputed election of 2000. Ohio, with its 20 electoral votes, ensured Bush of re-election in 2004 in his race against Kerry. Neither state was hospitable to Obama this year. Clinton handily won in Ohio and she prevailed in Florida although the national party had punished the state and the candidates didn’t campaign there.
Have the bitter clingers in Ohio and the Israel-loving Jews in Florida found something to dislike about Obama?

Do not be fooled. This is another ploy by “The Great Deceiver” to lull the pro-McCain voting populace into a false sense of security.
Just a he always played the underdog while running against Hillary Clinton, Obama now wants us all to believe that it doesn’t matter if Florida and Ohio voters come out to vote for McCain because he has it clinched in those states.
Yes it does matter - this year it matters more than ever that every person who can vote and wants to vote against Obama and for America makes sure he/she is registered and gets his/her behind to the polls to make sure Barky is not elected.
Remember how KY and W Va were snuffed aside in the primaries, well Ohio and Florida you no longer exist to the All About Me Nominee. So watch closely as the other 48 (or is it 55?) states are assessed of their worth to his holiness’ attention. Here in PA, I think our chances of being under the bus are high. As of this weekend, Obama was making statements like he doesn’t need the people here, he just needs our checks.
Of course, you realize that no one from the Obama campaign has said that they aren’t still pursuing the 50 state strategy. All your article says is that people from his campaign has said the he could win even without the two states.
Obama has more than enough money to actively campaign in all fifity states (and if they voted the other seven territories that participated in the primary.
I find it telling that the only digs you can find against Obama are imagined utterings that are construed to the point fo not represetning the truth.
Wake Up! The times they are a changin’!
TO ENZO,
YOU ARE A SAD UNEDUCATED MAN. I HOPE EVEYONE IN OHIO AND FLORIDA LOSES THER JOB IF MCCAIN WINS
Exactly imagined utterings.
Serena, this is why McCain is going to loose. You talk about a ploy by the great deceiver. You deceive yourselves. Obama does not work with ploys, he works with realities. He is not playing games or making false manouvers. Everything he does is real. You are all too buys focusing on what you think are ploys and not recognising that what he does, is who he is. He never said he was the underdog. The media and people like you called him that and while you were doing that he beat Clinton. No ploys, no games, just truth.
Hello President Obama.
YES WE CAN AND WE WILL!!!!!
TO BRIAN,FL:
YOUR IGNORANCE IS REFLECTED PERFECTLY THROUGH YOUR ABOVE COMMENT.
You obviously don’t know me,… likewise you don’t know Barrack Hussein Obama. Nonetheless, you choose to support this lying, two-bit Chicago con artist. The hatred in which BHO’s base is steeped is evident in your statement:
… “I HOPE EVEYONE (sic) IN OHIO AND FLORIDA LOSES THER (sic) JOB IF MCCAIN WINS”
(Nice spelling, Brian… Now, who’s the uneducated one?)
You “HOPE” the worst on everyone… if you don’t get your way? Is this what Barrack Hussein Obama’s “Hope and Change” is all about? YOU appear to be the sad, uneducated one, Brian, since you wish to lose YOUR job too, you being from Florida… (unless, of course, you are unemployed and incarcerated, and your comments were written on a Florida State Prison library computer. I suppose it would make sense for you to hope your jailers would lose their jobs).
You hope for massive job losses if McCain wins, but I don’t fear a mere loss of jobs… I fear a mass loss of American lives, which will likely occur as a result of a Barrack Hussein Obama Presidency.
What are MY thoughts if Obama wins? Though I’m highly skeptical of him and his ilk, I will pray to be proven wrong, and pray that God’s guidance will, nonetheless, direct our nation in a positive way, so that America survives this awful era.
You and I think quite differently, Brian. I am optimistic that more Americans will agree with me, and work for the betterment of this nation, rather than thinking as you do… with hatred, anger and vengeance… “hoping” the worst upon your fellow citizens, should the election not go your way.
Sad, Brian, truly sad.

Just by saying that there are ways around FL and OH does not mean that Obama is abandoning these states. In fact, in his seventeen state strategy, both were included. And focusing his efforts on seventeen states does not mean that he is ignoring the other ones; rather, he will keep offices open in every state. Remember, President Bush has ruined lives in every state of the union, and may anyone who loves America, not just America’s corporations, vote for Obama.

They arrived the youth and found the arena empty. The land of the Palm trees did not welcome them as they thought it would be………….they scattered around looking for ground but found only a handful…….
