We’ve created a pro/con article on whether a nuclear Iran is intolerable on Debatepedia? It helps frame the arguments being presented in this article and the many others. May be worth a look:

While I find the change in policy declaration a bit unnerving, I know what the alternative is. Obama has claimed that he will speak with world leaders that we’ve previously had bad relations with (those of Iran included). While Bush believes that is akin to Chamberlain’s appeasement of the Nazi regime, it reflects a policy change that may lead to a more cooperative understanding between our nations. We’ve exhausted the saber rattling to no avail, and Clinton wishes to maintain that tradition, as is demonstrated here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mz6X7x_-y7E .
All I’m saying is, we know what she will do, and I don’t want the same kind of backwards, standoffish foreign policy that touts the size of our military as an excuse of our supremacy, rather than first establishing the necessity of its intervention in a tactful approach. I know many people believe that leaders like Ahmadinejad will never listen to ambassadorial attempts at cooperation, and those people may be absolutely right, but it’s irresponsible to simply ignore the possibility when we have nothing to lose, and possibly everything to gain. That is what hope is all about.
