New Democratic Party 2008 - Uninvited to the Party

Donna Brazile (clearly an Obama booster) says that there is a “new” Democratic coalition that no longer has to rely on white blue collar workers and Hispanics. Apparently the elderly are no longer of much consequence either, since this “new” Democratic coalition is young, urban, and suburban.

Here is a transcript from Brazile: BRAZILE: Well, Lou, I have worked on a lot of Democratic campaigns, and I respect Paul. But, Paul, you’re looking at the old coalition. A new Democratic coalition is younger. It is more urban, as well as suburban, and we don’t have to just rely on white blue-collar voters and Hispanics. We need to look at the Democratic Party, expand the party, expand the base and not throw out the baby with the bathwater.

There are so many closet Obama supporters that look like they are neutral. They clog the Sunday talk shows, Ms. Brazile being one of them, spouting their opinions that are mostly speculation and propaganda disguised as reality. Well, there is one reality that cannot be ignored in November, whether Edwards endorses 100 candidates, is that in WV, in some counties, Clinton won 90% of the vote. She won PA, OH, FL, MI, CA, NY, NJ, MA (so much for Kennedy and Kerry’s endorsement - 2 losers), and the list goes on. Obama only won caucus states that will be Republican in November. He will lose the Hispanic vote big time. McCain has not alienated Hispanics (one of the few Republicans who has not done that), and therefore, since Obama’s support among Hispanics is about zero, McCain will easily take the Southwest, along with Texas and the South. The belief that all of these Republicans states will be in contention in November is propaganda. The only reason these House seats have gone Democratic is because all politics is local and in the end, decisions were made on that basis, not on the big national picture. However, let me say this: When all of the reality of who Obama really is comes out, and it is not out yet, like the fact that he announced his candidacy on the steps of Bill Ayers house (the person who blew up the Pentagon and whose only regret is that he did not do enough), things like that, look out. All bets are off. I hope that the Democrats, after they lose the White House, will fire Pelosi and Reid, and get in more level headed people like Evan Bayh to run the party. Now, that would be nice and help Clinton come back and win the White House 4 years from now.

That lineup looks exactly like the kind of people Republicans have turne away for decades.
